Certificate of Origin

The Certificate of Origin (CO) is required by some countries for all or only certain products. A Certificate of Origin is an important international trade document that certifies that goods in a particular export shipment are wholly obtained, produced, manufactured, or processed in a particular country.

The exporter should verify whether a CO is required with the buyer and/or an experienced shipper/freight forwarder. A Certificate of Origin may be required from the exporter when exporting to countries with which the U.S. has:

  • United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA)

  • Other Free Trade Agreements (FTA)

  •

Processing time: Up to 3 weeks if an apostille is required from the state of New Mexico
